# Summer 2027 Season Expression of Interest

Basement Theatre is open for submissions for their Summer 2027 season, running from March to April 2027 in central Auckland (Te Wai Horotiu). This is a fantastic opportunity for emerging and unfunded artists to present new work — with no venue hire fee.

They're looking for works up to 75 minutes long (ideally 70 minutes or under) across any artform: theatre, dance, poetry, visual art, experimental work, comedy, ballroom, club nights, performance art, music, drag, cabaret — or anything in between. If you've got something to share, they want to hear from you.

Basement has two performance spaces: the Theatre (100 seats) and the Studio (63 seats), plus Foyer/Bar and Slab options. Seasons ideally run five nights, with double-billing available.

Your submission should include a project pitch (500 words), artistic background (250 words), goals (50 words), technical and production details, and supporting material such as a script, story outline, vision/moodboard, or video/audio samples.
