Black & White: Form. Texture. Light. Shadow. is a open call offered by Black Eyes Gallery (Tucson, Arizona, Global).
Applications closed on 20 November 2024.
The entry fee is 40 USD.

**Disciplines:** Photography
**Career stage:** All stages

Black Eyes Gallery invites photographers worldwide to submit black-and-white work for their upcoming group exhibition, running 5–26 December at 485 S. Stone Avenue, Tucson, with an opening reception on 5 December from 5–8 p.m.

Any genre is welcome — landscape, street, portrait, experimental, conceptual — as long as it lives entirely in black and white. Monochrome work of any process is eligible, including toned prints and digital conversions. Images with selective colour are not eligible, and work created substantially with AI will be disqualified.

**What's included in selection:**
Twenty-five images will be chosen. Black Eyes Gallery prints, mats, and frames every selected work at their own cost — you submit a file; they handle production. Selected artists also receive permanent inclusion in the gallery's online exhibition archive, promotion across social media and email channels, and a feature on the Black Eyes Gallery Instagram. Work can be listed for sale; the gallery takes a 50% commission.

**Key dates:**
- Submission deadline: 20 November
- Artist notification: on or before 25 November
- Exhibition: 5–26 December
- Opening reception: 5 December, 5–8 p.m.

**Entry fees:**
- $40 USD for up to 5 images
- $50 USD for up to 10 images
- Reduced fee of $20 USD available to a limited number of artists on a first-come, first-served basis — contact the gallery before submitting
- Unsuccessful entries receive $5 off a future submission

**File requirements:** JPG or JPEG, minimum 1,200 pixels on the longest side, between 500 KB and 5 MB. Label files as: lastname_firstname_title.jpeg

The call is open to photographers 18 and over worldwide (subject to US sanctions and compliance restrictions). Artists retain full copyright; the gallery holds a non-exclusive right to reproduce work for exhibition, archival, and promotional purposes.

Juror: Douglas Fur, BFA Cornish College of the Arts, nationally exhibited photographer and Gallery Manager based in Tucson. Submissions are reviewed blind where possible — the image, not the CV, is what's being judged.
