# SELF – Photography Open Call

SELF – Photography Open Call is a open call offered by Decagon Gallery (Brooklyn, Global).
Applications close on 17 November 2026.
Funding or payment: $50 - $500 USD.
The entry fee is 25 USD.

**Disciplines:** Photography
**Career stage:** All stages

SELF is an open call from Decagon Gallery inviting photographers worldwide to submit self-portraits that go beyond simple likeness. This isn't about photos of the artist — it's about images made in the act of honestly, uncomfortably, tenderly, or strangely looking at oneself.

Decagon is interested in work in any style: documentary, constructed, conceptual, or experimental. They're looking for images with a clear, felt point of view that use the self as a way of asking something larger — single images or series, and work that risks vulnerability over polish.

**Awards**
- First Place: $500 USD
- Second Place: $250 USD
- Third Place: $150 USD
- Two Honourable Mentions: $50 USD each
- Human Presence Award: Free entry to a future exhibition of their choice

Cash awards are limited to one per photographer — if your work is selected for multiple awards, you'll receive the highest value only.

**Selected artists receive:**
- Inclusion in the online exhibition (6 December 2026 – 6 February 2027)
- Publication in the printed exhibition catalogue
- Consideration for all awards

**Juror:** Douglas Beasley, a photographer whose personal vision explores the spiritual and emotional aspects of people and place, and founder of Vision Quest Photo Workshops.

**How to submit:**
Open to all photographers aged 18 and over. Submit JPGs sized to 2100 pixels on the long side, without text, watermarks, or borders (preferably under 4 MB). Name files: FirstName-LastName_Title.jpg.

Entry fee: $25 USD for up to 4 entries, $5 USD per additional entry. Photographers retain all rights and copyright to their work.
