This paid production internship places you at the heart of a major New Zealand music documentary feature film, working alongside experienced producers for approximately 16 weeks from January 2027. You'll work two days per week (around 16 hours), with flexible scheduling.

Day-to-day responsibilities include communicating with sync and music licensing teams, taking notes at production meetings, scanning and cataloguing music and archive materials, assisting editors with file management, contributing to publicity and marketing planning, and supporting crew hospitality.

You'll need strong communication skills, good organisational abilities, discretion when handling sensitive data, and confidence with Microsoft 365. Experience with editing software like Premiere Pro or ProTools is a bonus — but a willingness to learn counts just as much.

This role is part of the Industry Internship Programme, which has been running since 2018 and has placed interns across recording studios, events management, live music venues, PR firms, publishing companies and more. All interns are paid at the NZ Living Wage rate, mentored by their host organisation, and supported to build real skills, industry knowledge and professional networks.

Please note there are a reduced number of placements available this year due to budget constraints. Applications close 5PM Monday 23 November 2026.
