About
Submit poetry or visual art for Harbor Review's Issue #17 exploring the theme of "Savagery." Selected contributors receive a paid honorarium per piece.
Harbor Review is a digital magazine that publishes two issues a year, placing original, previously unpublished poems in conversation with visual art. We are currently accepting poetry and visual art submissions for our upcoming Issue #17. Theme: Savagery This issue invites you to explore the word savagery from any direction. It might mean brutality, survival, or what is wild, untamed, feral, or ungovernable. It could live in the natural world, in desire, in grief, or in joy too large to be polite. We welcome work that questions who or what gets called savage, who does the naming, and what happens when the word is rejected, reshaped, or reclaimed. What’s Provided: Publication in Harbor Review’s digital issue #17. Honorarium: $10 USD (approx. $17 NZD) per published poem or visual art piece, paid exclusively via PayPal upon the issue's release. Submission Guidelines & Fees: Standard Submissions: Free. Editors aim to respond within six months. Expedited Submissions: $8 USD (approx. $13.50 NZD) for a guaranteed response within 14 days. Poetry: Submit 1–3 poems in a single PDF or Word document. Include a short bio in your cover letter. Visual Art: Submit 1–3 high-resolution images with titles (minimum 2000 pixels on the longest side). Include an image list, a short bio, and a brief artist statement in your cover letter. Simultaneous Submissions: Allowed, but you must notify editors immediately if the work is accepted elsewhere. (Note: Harbor Review also offers paid critique services starting at $25 USD / ~$42.50 NZD for 3 poems, and $99 USD / ~$168 NZD for 10 poems. See their website for full details).
