FRACTO Experimental Film Encounter 2026

FRACTO Experimental Film Encounter is calling for submissions from filmmakers, video artists, and expanded cinema creators worldwide for its May 2026 festival in Berlin, Germany. The festival is dedicated to avant-garde and experimental cinema. This year's curated sections will include "Experimental Film Treasures #1" and a special focus on French filmmaker Cécile Fontaine. What’s Provided: Inclusion in the FRACTO 2026 festival programme. Opportunities for international and European premieres. Engagement with a dedicated community focused on avant-garde and experimental cinema. Submission Guidelines & Fees: Eligible Works: Short and mid-length films (up to 40 minutes) or expanded cinema proposals completed after January 1, 2024. Submission Limit: Each filmmaker may submit up to two films. Entry Fee: €15 EUR (approx. $27 NZD) per submission. Artist Responsibilities: Applicants must cover the submission fee, as well as any additional costs related to shipping, travel, or technical presentation (if selected).
