About
A two-month residency in Florence for women artists to develop site-specific projects for Museo Sant’Orsola, including a €1,700 grant and production budget.
Museo Sant’Orsola, the Calliope Arts Foundation, and the Levett Collection / FAMM are promoting two artist residencies and production grants dedicated to spotlighting and supporting women’s contributions to contemporary artistic practices. This residency (running October 1 to December 1, 2026) is conceived as a period devoted to research and artistic experimentation, offering selected artists the opportunity to develop a specific project in direct dialogue with the architecture and history of the former convent of Sant’Orsola in Florence. Residency & Production Details: During the Residency (Oct–Dec 2026): Artists receive a grant of €1,700 EUR (approx. $3,025 NZD), accommodation at Villa Il Palmerino, a workspace, and curatorial/technical support. Post-Residency (Spring 2027): An additional budget will be dedicated to the production of the specific project. The new works will be presented to the public as part of a high-profile art event scheduled at Museo Sant’Orsola between March and June 2027. Eligibility: Must be a woman artist. Must be available to be present in Florence for two consecutive months (Oct–Dec 2026). Must have a good knowledge of Italian, English, or French.
