About
A four-month digital arts residency offering dedicated studio access, mentoring, and a $3,500 stipend. Priority is given to local artists.
Te Oro is offering its first Digital Arts Residency as part of its wider Art and Performance Residency Programme. This four-month residency provides dedicated access to Te Oro’s digital suite, supporting artists working across moving image, interactive installation, projection, digital illustration, virtual environments, and hybrid digital forms. The programme is open to individuals or collectives aged 20 and over at any career stage (Early, Emerging, or Established). As an opportunity located right here in Auckland, it's a great fit for the local community, with priority given to artists from Glen Innes, neighbouring suburbs, iwi, or broader Auckland residents. What the Residency Provides: A four-month residency period with dedicated studios. Studio access during operation hours (Mon – Fri 9am – 7pm, Sat 9am – 4pm). Artist Stipend: $3,500 for Visual and Digital Arts (which includes material costs). (Note: Performing Arts stream stipend is $3,000). Professional mentoring support and paid workshop opportunities. Networking and professional development. Support towards a final public exhibition or performance. Selection Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated on alignment with Te Oro's values, conceptual strength, innovation, clear intentions for research and experimentation, potential to push boundaries, and feasibility within the four-month timeframe. (Note: Applications close at midnight on Sunday, 22nd March 2026).
