About
A 3.5-week international residency in New York's Hudson Valley for two Critics/Curators to engage with artists, run discussions, and connect talent with the art
Art Omi invites applications for two Critics/Curators-in-Residence for its 2027 summer programme, held 17 June – 12 July at its 300-acre campus in Ghent, New York, two and a half hours north of New York City.
Each summer, Art Omi brings together approximately two dozen international artists alongside two Critics/Curators-in-Residence for an intensive 3.5-week exchange. As a Critic/Curator-in-Residence, you'll facilitate group discussions, conduct individual studio visits with participating artists, and help connect them with art world professionals through Art Omi's Visitors Programme. It's a rare opportunity to build meaningful relationships with a diverse cohort of talented artists from around the world.
Who can apply?
Critics, curators, and art writers who have been professionally active for at least five years. You'll need to demonstrate this through your CV, website, blog, published articles, and/or reviews. Applicants must be comfortable living communally — residents are expected to stay on campus for the full duration and join nightly shared dinners. Overnight guests (including partners and children) are not permitted, and no pets are allowed. Previous Art Omi alumni are not eligible to apply again.
