Photo Shoot 2026

Black Box Gallery invites photographers from around the world to submit work for Photo Shoot 2026, an open-themed juried group exhibition. There are no restrictions on theme, style, or genre — landscape, portraiture, documentary, fashion, still life, conceptual, street, nature, night photography and everything in between is welcome.

The juror, Todd Johnson (MFA Photography, San Francisco Art Institute and founder of Black Box Gallery), will select 26 photographs for display in the physical gallery and a further 50 for the online gallery annex. All 76 selected works will be included in a purchasable catalogue on Blurb Books.

One of the most practical aspects of this opportunity: Black Box provides free printing, free matting, and free framing for all selected works. Accepted photographers simply submit a high-resolution TIFF or JPEG file; the gallery handles the rest, printing on an Epson Stylus Pro archival inkjet printer using Epson Premium Luster Photo paper in a colour-calibrated environment.

All exhibition prints are kept in a flat file after the show for ongoing promotion to collectors, curators, and critics. No print will be sold without the photographer's prior consent, and all rights remain with the photographer. The gallery takes a 50% commission on any sales — but artists can opt out of sales entirely and have their print used for exhibition and promotion only.

Entry fee: $40 USD per entry (up to 5 photos per entry), paid via PayPal.

How to apply: Pay the entry fee via PayPal, then email up to 5 JPEG files (1200px on the longest side, 72 PPI, 5 MB or less each) to info.blackboxgallery@gmail.com with the subject line "Photo Shoot: 2026". Include your name, call for entry name, Instagram handle (optional), and photo titles with corresponding file names.

All applicants will be notified of juror selections 7–10 days after the deadline.
