The boorda yeyi Immersive Arts Commission is a major new initiative from the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA), designed to support Australian artists pushing the boundaries of digital experience and human connection. This inaugural commission seeks bold, technology-driven installations that transform how viewers encounter ideas through embodied, spatial, or interactive media. The commission is valued at $75,000, consisting of a $50,000 cash component for production and fees, plus $25,000 in presentation and curatorial support from PICA. Beyond the initial exhibition in Perth, the selected work is intended to be scalable and transportable for a regional tour across Western Australia.
