Sarajevo Photography Festival 2026

The Sarajevo Photography Festival (SPF) is an annual, month-long international event established to celebrate photography in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The festival emphasizes socially relevant themes and provides a space for diverse voices and narratives. Emerging and established photographers are invited to submit their work across 8 competition categories to be reviewed by an international jury of recognized experts, including Pulitzer Prize winners, festival directors, and gallery directors. Awards & Prizes (Total Value €7,000): Grand Prix: €2,000 EUR (approx. $3,600 NZD) cash prize. Category Winners: The top 3 winners in each of the 8 categories will be awarded for their outstanding work. First-place winners receive a professional award sponsored by Canon and an official festival statue. Exhibition: Around 80 photographers are selected to exhibit their work in Sarajevo throughout June 2026. Submission Fees: 1 Category: €15 EUR (approx. $27 NZD) 3 Categories: €25 EUR (approx. $45 NZD) All Categories: €30 EUR (approx. $54 NZD) Note: Entry fees are non-refundable. Artists are responsible for their own submission fees. Festival Dates: The opening week runs from June 1–7, 2026, featuring exhibitions, free workshops, lectures, panel discussions, portfolio reviews, and networking events. Exhibitions remain on view throughout the entire month.
