About

A fully-funded, one-month research and experimentation residency at Le Wonder, a collective artist studio near Paris with extensive workshop facilities.

Le Wonder is a collective studio managed by and for artists. Located in Bobigny (near Paris), the collective occupies large, disused complexes, shaping the spaces to include collective and individual workshops, a shared pool of machinery, and a space for experimentation. The research and creation residency offered by Le Wonder is not focused on the production of a specific project. Instead, it encourages research and experimentation, whether theoretical, material, or formal. The residency lasts for one month (periods run from September–November 2026, or March–May 2027). Grants & Benefits: Artist’s fee: €1,200 EUR (approx. $2,130 NZD) Travel expenses: Lump sum of €250 EUR (approx. $445 NZD) Production costs: Up to €400 EUR (approx. $710 NZD) (with receipts) Accommodation: Provided free of charge (a private room with the possibility to host a partner/family upon request). Workspace: A private studio up to 80 m², plus guidance by a duo of artist mentors from the collective. Workshop Access: Full access to Le Wonder's extensive departments, including Wood, Textile, Image/Screen-printing, Metal, Ceramics, Cinema editing, a Photo studio, and an experimental associative kitchen. Eligibility & Commitments: Open to all artists and curators, regardless of age or nationality. (Note: Candidates living in the Île-de-France region are not eligible). All artistic disciplines are accepted. Invited artists must be autonomous in their practice/tools, respect the internal regulations, and be affiliated with an artist social security scheme or equivalent international system.
