A free 3-month ceramics residency in Brixton, London, open to international artists at all career stages to develop a new body of small-scale ceramic work.
Earthworks Ceramic Studios (EWRKS) is inviting applications for its 3-Month Ceramics Residency, taking place July – September 2026 in the heart of Brixton, London.
This free residency offers a ceramics artist the space and time to develop a new body of small-scale ceramic work within a vibrant, collaborative studio community. It's a chance to explore new ideas, refine your techniques, and grow alongside other makers in a creative and supportive environment.
What's included:
- Access to shared studio facilities, including a slab roller and extruder wheels
- Bisque firings to 1000°C and stoneware firings to 1260°C, included at no cost
- Free participation — no application fee, no programme fee
What's not included:
- Accommodation (artists must arrange and fund their own housing in London)
- Clay and materials (artists must purchase their own)
- Visa sponsorship (international artists are welcome to apply but must arrange their own visas)
Who can apply:
Artists at any stage of their career who work with ceramics. International applicants are encouraged. Your proposal must clearly focus on small-scale ceramic work and demonstrate a genuine engagement with clay.
To apply, you'll need:
- A portfolio of 5 images of recent ceramic work
- A current CV
- An artist statement outlining your practice, goals, and intentions for the residency
