About
Arts Tasmania supports individual artists and artist groups to further their artistic practice and careers. Funding of up to $30,000 is available for creative development, research, presenting work, residencies, professional development, and market development.
The Arts Tasmania Individuals and Groups program is a flexible, high-impact grant designed to fuel the professional evolution of Tasmanian artists. Whether you are in the "Deep Research" phase of a new project or ready to launch an international exhibition, this fund provides the financial runway to make it happen. With a ceiling of $30,000, this program covers almost every stage of the creative lifecycle—from recording an album and attending international residencies to market development and promotion. Crucially, Arts Tasmania prioritizes the payment of artist fees, ensuring that creatives are compensated for their time, not just their materials. If you have been a Tasmanian resident for at least six of the last 12 months, this is your primary opportunity to secure significant state backing. Key Details: The Grant: Up to $30,000. Eligible Activities: Creative development, research, exhibitions, performances, recordings, and residencies (local/international). Travel: Includes funds for travel and living allowances for touring or residencies. Eligibility: * Individuals: Must have lived in Tasmania for 6 of the last 12 months. Groups: At least one core member must meet the Tasmania residency requirement. The Catch: Grant funds cannot be used to purchase equipment (e.g., cameras, computers).
