About

Free international digital art contest open to artists worldwide, with physical and metaverse exhibition in Bosnia. No AI tools permitted.

The International Digital Art Contest 2026 is a free, open-access competition organised by the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), welcoming digital artists from around the world.

The contest has no predetermined theme — it aims to showcase the full diversity of contemporary digital practice, from experimental and conceptual works to narrative and introspective forms. Selected works will be exhibited simultaneously in a physical gallery in Široki Brijeg and virtually on the Spatial metaverse platform.

Two categories are accepted:

  • Digital Still Image Artworks (DSIA): Digital images, graphics, painting, and photography.
  • Digital Moving Image Artworks (DMIA): Short films, animations, and time-based works (max 2 minutes).

Eligibility requirements:

  • Open to artists worldwide aged 18 and over.
  • Works must exist exclusively in a digital environment — no physical equivalents.
  • Works must be created without the use of AI tools. Organisers may request proof of manual creation (e.g. layered files, sketches, metadata).
  • Commercial works, client commissions, and applied design are not accepted.
  • Each applicant may submit one artwork only. Collaborative works are not eligible.

Awards include:

  • Grand Prix (best overall work)
  • First Prize – DSIA
  • First Prize – DMIA
  • Special Jury Award

All participants receive a certificate of participation. Selected works will be featured in a digital catalogue.

Key dates:

  • Applications open: 1 April 2026
  • Deadline: 1 August 2026
  • Results announced: 15 September 2026
  • Exhibition: 14 October – 18 November 2026

Submit via Google Form only — emailed submissions will not be accepted. Artwork must be uploaded to a cloud service (Google Drive, WeTransfer, or Dropbox) with an open, non-expiring link.
