The MacDowell Fellowship is a highly competitive residency program that awards approximately 300 artists annually based on the sole criterion of artistic excellence. Designed to foster intense productivity and transformative creative experiences, the fellowship provides a private studio and a supportive community for artists across seven disciplines: architecture, film/video, interdisciplinary arts, literature, music composition, theatre, and visual arts. The program is committed to inclusivity, encouraging applications from artists of all backgrounds and countries. To ensure accessibility, there are no residency fees, and MacDowell provides need-based stipends and travel reimbursement grants to selected Fellows.
