About

An international award for 2D and 3D artworks exploring themes of landscape and nature, offering a £2,000 prize and a UK exhibition.

The Mannington Nature Award celebrates artistic responses to landscape and the natural world. Established in 2026 and generously supported by the Ellis family (owners of Mannington Hall and Wolterton Hall), the award invites submissions that explore our relationship with nature, place, and the environment. Open to artists worldwide at all career stages. Submissions may include work in any medium, from painting, drawing, printmaking, and photography to sculpture and other three-dimensional forms. Sculpture and three-dimensional work are particularly encouraged. Prizes & Exhibition: The judges will select a shortlist of works to be exhibited, from which one artist will be selected as the recipient of the award of approximately $4,200 NZD (£2,000). Shortlisted works will be exhibited at Mannington Hall, a medieval moated house set within gardens, woodland, and farmland that reflect the spirit of the award. The exhibition opens with an awards reception on Sunday 19 July 2026, followed by a private view on Monday 20 July. It will then be open daily from 10am to 5pm until Saturday 1 August. All works may be offered for sale (Holt Art Projects charges 28.2% commission on sales). Artwork Guidelines: • 2D works: Must measure no more than 1.25 metres in height or width (including frame) and be no greater than 40cm deep. Must be supplied with D-rings and wire/cord for hanging. • 3D works: Must have a maximum footprint of 1m x 1m and be stable for exhibition display. 2026 Judges: • Veronica Sekules: Curator, former Head of Education & Research at Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, and founder of GroundWork Gallery. • The Ellis Family: Custodians of Wolterton Hall and Mannington Hall.
