About
Scholarships awarded annually to emerging and established music practitioners to further their studies overseas for up to 12 months.
Creative New Zealand is offering two distinct scholarship opportunities in 2026 to support international musical study for up to 12 months. These scholarships are intended for established New Zealand musicians who have already completed a relevant university degree or high-level diploma. The Edwin Carr Foundation Scholarship is dedicated specifically to composers, while the Jack McGill Music Scholarship is open to musicians aged 20+ with priority given to pianists. Funding can be used for overseas tuition fees, living expenses, and travel, provided the study takes place at a recognized international institution. Applicants must provide a detailed 12-month budget and evidence of their track record of success.
