This open call seeks contemporary craft practitioners working across all mediums to showcase their work and engage with audiences during this prestigious annual celebration of craft in London. International artists are welcome to apply.
SPIRA9 announces an open call for artists, architects, designers, performers, and interdisciplinary makers to participate in WHISPERer, an upcoming exhibition at London Craft Week (May 15–17, 2026). About the Exhibition: WHISPERer explores the invisible dialogue embedded in making, revealing the subtle rhythms, patterns, and structures of craft. The exhibition invites works that transform materials into contemplative experiences, investigate repetition and structure, and embrace interdisciplinary approaches across analogue, digital, and hybrid media. We welcome submissions across all disciplines, including textiles, ceramics, metalwork, installation, digital/generative craft, and sound/light media. What Selected Artists Receive: Exhibition Placement: Curated spatial and conceptual presentation at 1 Acorn Parade, London. 0% Commission on Sales: Artists retain 100% of any sales made during the exhibition. Professional Documentation: All works will be professionally photographed and video-documented. Promotion: Official London Craft Week listing, dedicated artist features on SPIRA9 social channels, press outreach, and inclusion in the exhibition archive. Networking: Invitation to an exclusive private view event with collectors, curators, and industry professionals. Awards: Selected works will be considered for the WHISPERer Prize, Curator's Choice, Critics' Choice, and Audience Choice Awards. International Support: Official invitations and letters of recommendation (suitable for visa applications or residencies). Participation Fees & Deadlines: To ensure the highest level of curation and technical support, a participation fee (inclusive of VAT) is required for each selected artist. (Note: Participation is by selection, not by payment). 2D Art: £255 GBP (approx. $535 NZD) for paintings, drawings, prints, or wall-mounted works. 3D, Screen-Based & Installation: £325 GBP (approx. $682 NZD) for sculptural, digital, video, interactive, and installation projects.
