About

Open call for emerging photographers exploring the theme of 'Home' — selected works exhibited at the UN Headquarters in New York for Human Rights Day 2026.

Fotografiska Emerging, in partnership with Photography4Humanity, invites emerging photographers worldwide to submit work exploring one of our most urgent and universal themes: Home.

They're looking for images that reflect on safety, belonging, dignity, identity, and place — photographs that speak to what home means in an era shaped by climate disruption, displacement, and migration. Personal, documentary, and conceptual approaches are all welcome.

Selected works will be exhibited at the United Nations Headquarters in New York in recognition of Human Rights Day on 10 December 2026 — bringing these stories into one of the world's most significant civic spaces. The exhibition is presented in partnership with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN Human Rights), which serves as Global Impact Partner.

The curation team includes renowned photojournalist James Nachtwey — a founding member of VII Photo Agency and longtime TIME contract photographer — and Pauline Benthede, Global Vice President of Artistic Direction and Exhibitions at Fotografiska.

Deadline: 12 July 2026 at 10:00 CEST. All submitters will be notified of outcomes in October 2026.
