About
Rolling grants of up to $50,000 USD for professional painters, sculptors, and works-on-paper artists worldwide, based on artistic merit.
The Pollock-Krasner Foundation offers unrestricted grants of up to $50,000 USD to professional visual artists working in painting, sculpture, and works on paper (including printmaking). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis — there are no deadlines — and artists from anywhere in the world are encouraged to apply.
Grants can be used however best supports your practice: creating new work, buying supplies, renting studio space, preparing for exhibitions, attending a residency, or offsetting living expenses. Grant amounts are determined by individual circumstances, and professional exhibition history is taken into consideration. Financial need is not a factor — grants are awarded on artistic merit.
To apply, you'll need to submit an online application including a cover letter, artist statement, current CV with exhibition record, ten JPEG images of recent work (completed within the past ten years), and a corresponding image identification list. The review process typically takes nine to twelve months.
Two-person collaborations are welcome to apply (contact the Foundation beforehand for instructions). The Foundation does not fund students, video art, photography (except as a minor component of other work), generative or AI art, commercial/graphic art, performance art, filmmaking, or craft objects with a functional purpose.
Reapplicants who were previously declined must wait at least 12 months before reapplying. Grantees must wait 12 months from the end of their grant period. All reapplicants must submit images of work not previously seen by the Foundation.
For questions, contact the Foundation directly before applying if you are a citizen or resident of a US Treasury-sanctioned country.
