A UK art award celebrating LGBTQ+ artists, with winning work acquired for the Queer Britain national museum collection.
The Queer Britain Art Award is an exciting opportunity for LGBTQ+ artists to have their work recognised and acquired by Queer Britain — the UK's national museum dedicated to LGBTQ+ history and culture.
The award celebrates artwork that explores, reflects, or speaks to queer experiences and identities. Winning work becomes part of the Queer Britain permanent collection, ensuring it contributes to the long-term preservation and celebration of LGBTQ+ art and stories.
This is a meaningful opportunity for artists at any stage of their career who want their practice to be part of a growing national legacy. Whether your work directly addresses queer themes or comes from a queer perspective, Queer Britain is interested in artwork that adds depth and diversity to its collection.
Artists from Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia are encouraged to apply — Queer Britain welcomes international submissions.
