Call for Proposals 2027

RM Gallery and Project Space is inviting proposals for their 2027 exhibition programme, with a deadline of midnight on Monday 8 June 2026.

RM supports and promotes new developments in contemporary arts across Aotearoa. Proposals are welcome for solo or group exhibitions, as well as events, workshops, performances, talks, screenings, online projects, publications, text-based projects and off-site happenings.

The 2027 programme will run at a slower pace, with 6-week exhibition runs and increased resourcing for more ephemeral events and projects. Artist fees and production support are available courtesy of Creative New Zealand.

RM has two exhibition spaces — Space R and Space M — and invites proposals for either or both. Note that due to reduced programming, use of the whole gallery by a single applicant is not guaranteed.

Your proposal should include:

• A written statement of 500–750 words outlining your proposed work, participant backgrounds, and what you intend to present. Write it in a way that reflects your practice — it can be specific about installation or more focused on ideas and methods. RM sees the proposal as a starting point for conversation, not a fixed plan.
• Visual or audio material — photographs of the work, or documentation of recent work. Film, sound or video can be sent as a file or via a link.
• A note on which space you prefer (Space R or Space M), with reference to the floor plan.
• Contact details (phone and email).
• An optional artist CV.
• Your preferred quarter of the year for your exhibition.

Preferred quarters:

• 1st quarter: January – March
• 2nd quarter: April – June
• 3rd quarter: July – September
• 4th quarter: October – December
