About
One of the USA's oldest and most prestigious international competitions for artists working in photography and printmaking.
The Print Center's ANNUAL International Competition is one of the most prestigious and longest-running competitions in the United States, welcoming photographers and printmakers from around the world.
The competition is open to artists who use photography and/or printmaking as critical components of their practice — whether working within traditional methods or pushing the boundaries of both disciplines. The Print Center is particularly interested in work that is compelling in both content and process.
Awards and prizes include:
- Three solo exhibitions at The Print Center, Philadelphia
- Stinnett Philadelphia Museum of Art Collection Award (work accessioned into PMA's permanent collection)
- Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Purchase Award
- The Art Museum of West Virginia University Purchase Award
- Callan/McNamara Award
- Fish/Pearce Award
- Jacqueline L. Zemel Prize for Printmaking
- Awagami Paper Award
- Stockbridge Fine Art Print Award
- Two-year Print Center Gallery Store contract
- Online Portfolio Exhibition
- Over $2,000 USD in additional purchase and material prizes
Finalists receive a solo exhibition in Philadelphia and inclusion in an online portfolio exhibition showcasing up to 10 images. Semifinalists are also featured online with up to five images, biographical information, and an artist statement.
