About
Open call for artists and community organisers to exhibit work or run events celebrating urban trees across the UK, May 2026.
The Urban Tree Festival (UTF) is inviting submissions for its 2026 annual celebration of trees in urban environments. There are two ways to get involved:
The Urban Forest Exhibition — Submit artwork that interprets the theme of the 'urban forest' in broad and creative ways. Selected works will be displayed in an immersive group exhibition at Art Hub Studios in New Cross, London, running 9–17 May 2026.
Open Call for Events — Propose a guided tree walk, creative workshop, mindful nature session, ecology talk, or community nature project. Events can take place anywhere across the UK or online, and will be featured in the official UTF 2026 programme.
The festival welcomes artists, ecologists, urban planners, storytellers, and community organisers. All disciplines are encouraged — painting, sculpture, installation, performance, film, digital work, written and spoken word, and experiential or participatory projects are all in scope. The only requirement is that your work or event genuinely engages with the urban forest theme and helps people connect with trees in cities and towns.
Applications are free and submitted via Google Forms. Before starting, gather everything you need — event descriptions, images, timings, links, and key details — as it's difficult to add information after submission. A valid Google account is required to access the forms.
This is a wonderful opportunity to share your practice with a community-focused, environmentally engaged audience, with no entry fee and a genuine celebration at its heart.
