About
Two one-off grants for young people leading social movements, campaigns, and community organising in Aotearoa — up to $5,000 NZD.
The Youth Movement Fund offers two one-off grants to support young people who are leading change in their communities.
Kaupapa Grant – up to $5,000 NZD
For projects delivered between May 2026 and May 2027. This could be a one-off event or a series of events — think campaigns, wānanga, community organising, or advocacy work led by and for young people.
Enabling Access Grant – up to $2,000 NZD
For purchasing resources that help you do your work as a change-maker or movement leader. This might cover transport to attend wānanga, replacing essential gear like microphones or stationery, or paying for work-related subscriptions such as website or domain costs.
The fund prioritises social movements, campaigns, wānanga, community organising, and advocacy that is youth-led — especially from communities most affected by the issues being addressed, including Māori, Pasifika, Takatāpui/Rainbow, Disabled, and Refugee/Migrant communities.
The fund will not support research, think tanks, support services, or political parties.
You're welcome to apply for both grants. If you have questions about which grant suits your mahi, reach out to the team.
