Annual international prize celebrating excellence in photobook publishing across three categories, with a $10,000 USD prize for First PhotoBook.
The Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook Awards are an annual celebration of the photobook's enduring role in the history and practice of photography. Established in 2012, the awards recognise excellence across three major categories: First PhotoBook, PhotoBook of the Year, and Photography Catalog of the Year. Each year, winners are selected from nearly one thousand books submitted by artists and publishers from around the world.
Prize Categories
All 35 shortlisted books will be exhibited at Paris Photo at the Grand Palais, Paris, in November, with winners and shortlisted titles also shown at venues around the world in the months following.
Eligibility
Books must be produced and published between 6 September 2025 and 4 September 2026 (books with an official publication date through 31 December 2026 are also eligible if printed before the deadline). Virtual or electronic-only books are not eligible. PhotoBook of the Year entries must have a minimum print run of 100 copies.
Entry Fees
How to Enter
Complete the online submission form, pay the entry fee, print your submission form, and mail a physical copy of each submitted book to Aperture's New York office. All books must be physically received by 5 p.m. EDT on Friday, 4 September 2026 — no late exceptions.
