Residency in Kyoto for emerging performing arts artists, offering studio space, accommodation, airfare, and a ¥200,000 production subsidy for up to 3 months.
Kyoto Art Center (KAC) is inviting applications from emerging artists and researchers working in the performing arts for its Artist-in-Residence Program 2027. One artist or artist group will be selected to spend up to three months in Kyoto, engaging in creative production and cultural exchange.
Applicants must have a clear reason for undertaking their work in Kyoto and be able to plan and implement at least one public exchange project during their stay. The programme is open to international applicants who can communicate in English or Japanese.

Note that food, artist fees, and other living expenses are not covered. Artists are responsible for their own production materials and are strongly encouraged to arrange travel insurance.

2. CV (1 page, PDF)
3. Portfolio (maximum 5 pages, PDF, max 10 MB)
All documents must be in Japanese or English. Results will be communicated by email in late November 2026.
