About
Global art prize open to artists aged 35 and under, offering USD $100,000 to the main winner and long-term support for emerging practice.
The Future Generation Art Prize is one of the world's most prestigious opportunities for artists aged 35 and under. Now in its eighth edition, the biannual prize was established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in 2009 to discover, recognise, and provide long-term support to the next generation of artists — regardless of gender, nationality, race, or artistic medium.
Any artist aged 35 or younger can apply online via futuregenerationartprize.org between May 11 and June 28, 2026. Alongside the open call, a global network of 300 correspondent art experts — including curators, critics, artists, and art college tutors — will also nominate between two and five candidates each.
A seven-member selection committee, each appointed by a jury member, will review all applications and shortlist 20 artists. The winner of the PinchukArtCentre Prize automatically becomes the 21st nominee. All shortlisted artists will be commissioned to create new works for an exhibition at PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv in spring 2027.
The main prize winner receives USD $100,000, split between a $60,000 cash award and a $40,000 investment in their artistic practice. Up to five artists may also receive a share of a further USD $20,000 in special prizes, awarded at the jury's discretion.
The Prize has supported over 100 artists, with exhibitions at PinchukArtCentre and la Biennale di Venezia. Past winners include Lynette Yiadom Boakye (2012), Cinthia Marcelle (2010), Dineo Seshee Bopape (2017), and Ashfika Rahman (2024).
