Open Call: Rezydencje Artystyczne 2027 (Artistic Residencies 2027)

ZAMEK Culture Centre in Poznań is calling for applications for its 2027 Artistic Residencies programme. ZAMEK is an interdisciplinary cultural institution housed in a former imperial residence, presenting contemporary work across visual arts, theatre, music, and film. The residency programme supports individual artistic development while fostering meaningful exchange between artists and the public.

There are two residency formats available

Conceptual Residency — a creative stay focused on developing a project or part of a project, without a required final outcome or public presentation.

Production Residency — a stay culminating in a public artistic event (exhibition, concert, film screening, etc.).

Residencies run for 4 to 8 weeks. What's included

• Accommodation in an apartment within the castle's historic imperial residence
• An artist's studio
• A fee of 6,000 PLN gross per month (under a work-for-hire contract)
• A production budget of 5,000–15,000 PLN gross, depending on the length of stay and project type
• Curatorial support
• Promotion of the residency and project

What's expected

• For both residency types: public-facing meetings (lectures, presentations, artist talks, workshops, etc.) at least once every two weeks
• For production residencies: the above, plus a final public artistic event

ZAMEK is open to proposals from all art forms — visual arts, performance, choreography, dance, music, sound art, architecture, and film. Literature is excluded. Projects that will be particularly considered include those:

• Engaging with shifting contemporary realities — questions about the present and future in the context of climate crisis, migration, wars, threats to democracy, and the socio-political landscape
• Drawing inspiration from the castle's history or architecture

Projects should be scaled appropriately to the available budget. Due to space and staffing constraints, co-funded projects from external sources will not be supported.
