EOI to perform at the 2027 Auckland Live Cabaret Festival across four categories: New Works, Existing Works, Roving Performers, and Scratch Night.
Auckland Live is inviting artists to express interest in performing at the 2027 Auckland Live Cabaret Festival — one of Aotearoa's flagship performing arts events. Set across the iconic Civic Theatre and beyond, the festival celebrates cabaret in all its forms, from classic to contemporary, intimate to spectacular.
There are four categories open for expressions of interest
New Works — For shows that haven't yet been presented to a ticketed audience, including premieres and works-in-development on track for presentation in 2026 or beyond. *Deadline: 11:59pm Sunday 25 October 2026.*
Existing Works — For productions that have already been staged and are ready to tour or remount. Strong performance history, technical specs, and marketing assets are a plus. *Deadline: 11:59pm Sunday 25 October 2026.*
Roving Performers & Live Art — For artists whose work thrives in intimate, unexpected, or high-energy moments — singers, musicians, drag performers, burlesque artists, circus acts, and more. Successful applicants will be drawn upon for lineup shows, foyer activations, and special events. *Deadline: 11:59pm Sunday 22 November 2026.*
Scratch Night — For artists with works-in-progress or new creative experiments ready for an audience. Each artist gets up to 8 minutes to test, play, and gather response in a fast-paced celebratory night. *Deadline: 11:59pm Sunday 22 November 2026.*
EOIs are reviewed by the Auckland Live Performing Arts Programming team. Shortlisted artists will be invited to meet with the team — budget discussions happen at this later stage. The festival is committed to reflecting the diverse communities of Tāmaki Makaurau and Aotearoa.
