Black Box Gallery invites photographers worldwide to submit work for *Color Space: Contemporary Photography*, a juried group exhibition exploring the diversity, complexity, and visual impact of colour in contemporary photography.
How do photographers use colour to captivate, compose, and stylise their subjects? Drawing on a rich tradition — from William Eggleston and Stephen Shore to Cindy Sherman and Gregory Crewdson — this exhibition celebrates colour as a central creative force.
Juror: Todd Johnson, founder and director of Black Box Gallery, MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, with over 20 years of experience as a photographer, educator, and curator.
Exhibition Details:
Free Printing & Framing: Black Box Gallery offers complimentary framing, matting, and archival inkjet printing for accepted work. Selected photographers supply a high-resolution TIFF or JPEG file, or may send framed prints directly. Gallery uses Epson Premium Luster Photo paper in a colour-calibrated environment.
Sales: Gallery takes a 50% commission on sales; 50% goes to the photographer. Prints do not have to be for sale — exhibition and promotion only is an option. All rights remain with the photographer.
Entry fee: USD $35 per entry (up to 5 photos per entry). Pay via PayPal or cheque.
How to apply: Pay the entry fee, then email info.blackboxgallery@gmail.com with subject line *Color Space: Contemporary Photography*. Include your name, exhibition name, photo titles with filenames, and attach up to 5 JPEG files (1024px on longest side, 72 DPI, max 3MB each). Name files: firstname_lastname1.jpg, etc.
Open to all photographers worldwide, amateur and professional. Notifications sent 7–10 days after the deadline.
