About
Three-month Paris residency for choreographers living outside France, with studio space, living accommodation, and a monthly living grant.
The Centre national de la danse (CND) and the Cité internationale des arts have joined forces to offer a three-month residency in Paris for choreographers of all nationalities who are currently living and working outside of France (French overseas territories excluded).
This residency is designed to support professional mobility, help choreographers introduce their work to French audiences and institutions, and deepen their artistic research in an internationally connected environment.
What the residency includes:
- A three-month live/work studio at the Cité internationale des arts in central Paris (either January–March 2027 or March–May 2027)
- Studio time at the Centre national de la danse in Pantin (north-east Paris)
- Artistic and professional accompaniment, including access to both institutions' networks and documentary resources
- Return international travel to/from Paris, with visa support and travel insurance
- A living expenses grant of €1,000 per month
- A production grant of €1,500
- A public restitution of work created during the residency, in a format chosen by the recipient
Live/work studios range from 25–60m², combining a work room, kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping area. They can accommodate up to two adults and one child under 7. Please note these studios do not currently meet accessibility standards for people with disabilities — contact the Cité directly with any questions.
CND rehearsal studios are 60–200m² and located at Pantin.
To be eligible, you must:
- Reside outside mainland France at the time of application
- Be at least 25 years old by 24 June 2026
- Have at least three years of professional artistic activity
- Have created at least one choreographic project
Your application must include:
- Completed online application form (Google account required)

Selection is made by a professional jury including the directors of both partner institutions and an invited specialist. Work is assessed on artistic quality, coherence, and the relevance of Paris as a context for the project.
