DAS MINSK Kunsthaus
A paid 4-month culinary residency in Potsdam exploring food, art, memory, and communal dining at a former terrace restaurant turned contemporary art museum.
DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam invites chefs, artists, food designers, and interdisciplinary practitioners to apply for its newly launched culinary residency programme. Originally opened as a terrace restaurant in 1977, the building now operates as a museum of modern and contemporary art — and that layered history makes it a rich setting for exploring where food, art, memory, and public life meet.
The residency runs from April through July 2027 (four months) and asks recipients to develop and present their own project as part of the museum's public programme. Proposals might explore the venue's history as a site of communal dining, or venture into entirely new culinary territory — seasonal menus, supper clubs, cooking workshops, participatory dinners, artistic or performative food events, or collaborations with artists, researchers, and local communities around regional, historical, or sustainable food cultures.
The residency particularly welcomes projects that bring together culinary arts and artistic research, open new perspectives on the institution's history, and foster genuine dialogue between the museum and its visitors. Experimental and original approaches are encouraged — the suggested formats are just a starting point.
