About
Submit exhibition proposals, workshops, or performances for a transient gallery space in a repurposed office building behind Victoria Park Market, Auckland.
Poached Gallery is a transient, community-driven gallery space operating from a repurposed office building behind Victoria Park Market in Tāmaki Makaurau. Guided by the value of Kotahitanga, Poached was built as a direct response to a lack of accessible opportunities for artists who may not fit neatly within the commercial art market.
They're now seeking submissions for exhibitions scheduled in the second half of 2026 — and they're open to just about anything. Whether you have a fully formed exhibition concept, a smaller body of work, an idea for a workshop, or a performance in mind, they want to hear from you. Work can be old, new, complete, or still in progress. Solo pitches and collaborative proposals are both welcome.
Smaller bodies of work may be considered for inclusion in a wider curated thematic project, so don't feel you need to fill an entire show to apply.
The proposal deadline is 11 June 2026. If you miss the deadline, Poached encourages you to reach out anyway — they prioritise on-time submissions but sometimes spots open up, and exceptional work can be worth an exception.
Poached is also looking for volunteers with skills and time to help make it all happen. If you'd like to get involved behind the scenes, get in touch.
