National two-dimensional art award open to NZ residents, with a $10,000 Premier Prize and exhibition on Waiheke Island.
The Walker & Hall Waiheke Art Award is a national juried prize for two-dimensional works in any medium, proudly sponsored by Walker & Hall in association with the Waiheke Art Gallery.
The award is open to any New Zealand resident and offers a Premier Award of $10,000, alongside several additional prizes:
- Zinni Douglas Merit Award (for a Waiheke artist) – $1,000
- Michael Evans Award (for a figurative work) – $1,000
- Church Bay People's Choice Award – $2,500
- Gordon Harris Award – $500 voucher
Key Dates:
- 17 July 2026: Entries open
- 18 September 2026: Entries close
- 25 September 2026: Artists notified of selection results
- 9 October 2026: Selected works must be received at the Gallery
- 16 October 2026: Exhibition opens (6pm)
- 19 October 2026: Awards Ceremony
- 29 November 2026: Exhibition closes
Entry Criteria:
- One work per artist
- Maximum dimensions: 1200mm in height or length
- Work must be original and completed within the last year
- All works must be for sale
- Work must arrive ready for hanging
- Non-refundable entry fee of $55 applies
The exhibition is generously supported by the Waiheke Local Board, Skin Institute Waiheke, and Gordon Harris.
