Submit one original hand-drawn work to feature anonymously in a Berlin exhibition of 600 drawings, all sold at a fixed price of €250.
Anonymous Drawings is a thought-provoking exhibition project that strips away the usual markers of artistic identity and market hierarchy. Around 600 original hand-drawn works by 600 international artists will be displayed at ZAK - Zentrum für Aktuelle Kunst at the Spandau Citadel in Berlin, from 30 January to 25 April 2027 — without artists' names or titles revealed.
Every drawing is offered for sale at a fixed symbolic price of €250. If your work sells, you receive €200 directly. The remaining €50 helps fund future exhibitions and open calls. Anonymity is maintained until a work is sold — at which point the drawing is removed from the wall and replaced with the artist's name and place of origin.
There are no thematic restrictions. The only requirement is that your work is an original hand-drawn piece on paper, no larger than A3 (29.7 × 42 cm). Works must not be signed on the front. Prints, digital drawings, and works on tracing paper or thick cardboard are not eligible.
Selection is based entirely on anonymised digital images — biographical information plays no part. Only selected artists will be asked to ship their original work to Berlin.
How to apply:
Participation is free and open to everyone. Artists outside Germany whose work is not sold should note a €15 return postage contribution, or you may choose to donate your work to the Anonymous Drawings Archive — a growing collection of over 1,900 donated works that may appear in future travelling exhibitions.
This is a genuinely international, non-hierarchical exhibition platform — a rare chance to have your drawing assessed purely on its visual merit, and to be part of a collective conceptual artwork that questions how we value art.
