Arts Under the Mountain Festival / Te Aroha Business Association
Free outdoor street festival in Te Aroha seeking artists to display and sell work, with live music, performance and shared stall options available.
Arts Under the Mountain is a beloved annual street festival in Te Aroha, now in its 5th year, and they're looking for artists and makers to join them. It's a free event for both visitors and participants — no stall fees, just a great opportunity to showcase and sell your work in a lively community setting.
Whittaker Street, Te Aroha's main street, is closed off for the day creating a fantastic festival atmosphere. This year there's something new: a 16m x 13m stretch tent covering part of the street, providing a central hub with a unique vibe. Shared sites (3x3m) are available for those who don't need a full space.
The festival features creative items and artworks for sale, live music, street performance, a fashion event, and local cafes and shops all open for the day. Special guests this year include Ana Lorite and Sergio Aguilar from Naranjarte, a Spanish theatre company performing their puppetry, juggling and illusion show "The Bell". The festival also coincides with the NZ Motor Caravan Association's annual Te Aroha Rally, bringing an additional 1,000+ visitors to town.
