Apply to perform a free outdoor concert at the iconic Cornwall Park Band Rotunda in Auckland, with $1,000 NZD support per performance.
Cornwall Park Trust invites music groups of all kinds to apply for a performance slot in the Band Rotunda Takeover Concert Series — a free, family-friendly outdoor concert series held at the beautiful Cornwall Park Band Rotunda in Auckland.
Each selected group receives a two-hour performance slot from 5:00–7:00pm, with set-up from 3:00pm and pack-down until 8:00pm. You can perform as one continuous show or divide your set into segments, and audience participation is encouraged. Groups may also collaborate to share a concert slot, in which case the funding is split equally.
Performance Dates:
Funding: Cornwall Park Trust contributes $1,000 (excl. GST) per performance to support your group's performance and community work. If you have external funding sources requiring acknowledgement, please discuss this with Cornwall Park before applying.
Venue: The Cornwall Park Band Rotunda features a wheelchair-accessible elevated platform, open grass surroundings that accommodate large audiences, and on-site power supply. Groups must bring their own technical equipment — no PA or technical gear is provided on-site. Equipment must be freestanding and approved by Cornwall Park.
Application Requirements:
Applications are assessed by the Huia Lodge Discovery Hub team based on artistic quality, community engagement, diversity of performances, feasibility within venue constraints, and alignment with Cornwall Park's values of manaakitanga, beauty, and belonging.
After your performance, you'll be asked to complete a short evaluation survey (approx. 20 minutes) before payment is released.
