Juried group photography exhibition exploring trees and water as subjects, with free printing, matting, and framing for selected works.
Black Box Gallery invites photographers worldwide to submit work for Lens Work: Trees and Water, a juried group exhibition running August 1–25, 2026.
This exhibition celebrates trees and water as photographic subjects — from oceans, rivers, rain, mist, and waves to forests, lone trees, and their role as compositional anchors. The gallery is looking for dynamic, diverse, and poetic contemporary photography that engages with these themes in imaginative ways.
What's on offer:
Selected photographers provide a high-resolution TIFF or JPEG file for the gallery to print. Prints are kept in a flat file after the show for ongoing promotion to collectors, curators, and critics. All rights remain with the photographer — no print will be sold or reproduced without your prior consent.
The gallery takes a 50% commission on any sales, with 50% going to the photographer. Artists may also choose to keep their work not for sale.
Juror: Todd Johnson, founder and director of Black Box Gallery, MFA Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute, with 25 years of experience in arts education and curation.
Entry fee: $40 USD per entry (up to 5 photos per entry), paid via PayPal.
How to apply:
1. Pay the entry fee via PayPal
2. Email up to 5 JPEG images (1200px on longest side, 72 PPI, 5 MB or less each) to info.blackboxgallery@gmail.com
