International open call for a large-scale site-specific sculptural installation at Minos Palace, Crete, with a €15,000 prize and full production costs covered.
The George & Aristea Mamidakis Foundation invites artists from around the world to submit proposals for the Art Prize 2027 — an opportunity to create a large-scale, site-specific sculptural installation for permanent outdoor display at Minos Palace in Agios Nikolaos, Crete.
Established in 2019, the Art Prize has supported contemporary artists working at the intersection of art, environment, and public space. The 2027 edition is open to visual artists working in sculpture, installation, sound installation, mixed media, constructions using natural materials, land art, environmental art, ecological art, and practices that interweave art and nature in open-air environments.
Artists are invited to select one of three proposed outdoor sites for their proposal. Works will be evaluated on conceptual clarity, site-specificity, creative vision, integration with surroundings, technical feasibility, public safety, and sustainability.
