Hagley Theatre School is holding national auditions for its 2027 One-Year Acting Training Course — a full-time, intensive programme running Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 2:30pm, from February to December.
With 20 places available, the course is open to anyone with a passion for performance — no prior theatre experience is required. Training draws on Jacques Lecoq's poetic body approach, Stanislavski's Method of Physical Actions, and contemporary performance practices. Students will explore movement, mask work, improvisation, character creation, storytelling, theatre history, and ensemble performance.

You'll also need to upload a Letter of Support (PDF or Word) from a teacher, director, tutor, mentor, or someone who has worked with you in an artistic, educational, or professional capacity. The letter should speak to your commitment, reliability, creativity, ability to collaborate, and suitability for the programme.
Audition day involves a practical group class, a solo performance inspired by a provocation provided in advance (maximum five minutes), and a group performance created on the day from a separate provocation.
