Lead a team of four curators in Mātauranga Māori at Te Papa, shaping curatorial practice, research, and collection development.
Te Papa Tongarewa is looking for an experienced Senior Curator to lead their Mātauranga Māori team of four curators in Wellington. This is a permanent, full-time role (40 hours per week) at the heart of New Zealand's national museum.
In this position, you'll provide technical and people leadership to the Mātauranga Māori curatorial team — fostering growth, high performance, and a culture grounded in manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and auahatanga. You'll work closely with other Senior Curators to shape curatorial practice across Te Papa, and collaborate with Audience and Experience teams to bring curatorial expertise into exhibitions and public programmes.
You'll also lead and supervise research projects that continue Te Papa's tradition of knowledge creation and community engagement.
