NZ On Air
Up to $11,000 for NZ artists to professionally record, release and promote a new single, including visual content and marketing.
NZ On Air's New Music Single funding supports artists and musicians to professionally record a single song, create visual content to promote it, and cover marketing costs to grow their New Zealand audience.
You can apply for up to $10,000 (plus GST if registered), with a mandatory 10% Artist Creation Fee of up to $1,000 added on top — bringing the total to up to $11,000. The Artist Creation Fee is paid in the final drawdown and recognises your creative contribution to the project.
To be eligible, your music must qualify as New Zealand music, and you'll need to meet an entry threshold by scoring 'yes' on at least 10 out of 30 criteria benchmarks. These criteria look at your audience and following, track record in the NZ music scene, business credentials, strategic plans for the funding, and your budget.
All applications must include a completed budget using NZ On Air's Application Budget Template. Successful applicants can claim eligible expenses from the date the funding round opens.
The next round opens 8 October 2026, closes 22 October 2026, with decisions due 19 November 2026. Apply through the NZ On Air music funding portal.
