Archetypes in Motion
Year-round live/work residency in Trieste, Italy for creatives drawn to nature, mythology, and embodied practice — from €1,800/month.
The Archetypes in Motion Artist Residency in Trieste offers a year-round sanctuary for local and international creatives seeking space to reflect, experiment, and grow — without the pressure to constantly produce. Located just 20 minutes' walk from Trieste's historic city centre and 25 minutes by bus to the beach, the residency provides a private live/work studio that is both a practical workspace and a restorative retreat.
This residency is especially suited to artists drawn to nature, mythology, fantasy, and the cultural richness of the Apennine Peninsula. Visual artists, writers, dancers, photographers, performance artists, and interdisciplinary creators are all warmly welcomed. If you're feeling creatively depleted, this is a place that genuinely honours rest — embracing the Italian concept of 'dolce far niente' (the sweetness of doing nothing) as a valid and valued part of the creative process.
Each resident receives a private living space with bathroom, full kitchen, and studio. Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Resident groups are kept intentionally small to allow for genuine connection and exchange.
The monthly contribution is €1,800, which covers accommodation, studio space, all utilities (heating, water, electricity), and internet. The minimum stay is 14 days.
