Casual front-of-house role at Māngere Arts Centre, welcoming audiences and supporting live performing arts events in South Auckland.
Māngere Arts Centre is looking for enthusiastic casual Performing Arts staff to join their team and help bring live performances to South Auckland communities.
As part of the performing arts programme, you'll play a vital front-of-house role — welcoming audiences, taking tickets, seating guests, and covering reception and box office duties. You'll also help ensure the safe use of the performing arts facilities by both staff and venue users.
This is a casual position, so hours will vary depending on the programme schedule. You'll need to be flexible and available for evenings, weekends, and public holidays — that's the nature of the live arts world!
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a natural team player, and comfortable working under pressure. Customer service experience and good organisational skills will set you up well. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where every show brings something new.
In return, you'll get hands-on exposure to the performing arts industry, a warm and supportive team culture, and the opportunity to grow within Auckland Council's broader parks, recreation, and culture network. The team values te reo Māori me ōna tikanga, and is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion — holding GenderTick accreditation and a signatory of the Pride Pledge.
All applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
