Schloss Bröllin
A 1–2 week group residency in rural Germany for performing artists working in dance, performance, or contemporary circus, open internationally.
Schloss Bröllin, a castle and cultural centre set in the heart of nature in northern Germany, invites groups of performing artists to apply for a residency of one to two weeks as part of its 2027 annual programme. The residency is focused on dance, performance, and contemporary circus, and is open to groups working at regional, national, or international levels.
Groups can apply whether they are developing a new production (with secured or pending funding), resuming or furthering an existing project, or simply in a research or exploratory phase that calls for dedicated time and space.
What's included
Residency periods run between May and September 2027, with no stays available between 1–15 August. Specific dates are arranged jointly with successful applicants.
Applications are assessed by an independent expert jury on the basis of artistic quality and originality, project feasibility and development potential, the group's prior artistic practice, and the relevance of a Schloss Bröllin residency to the current phase of work. Community outreach or connections to the Vorpommern region are welcomed but not required.
Applications must be submitted online in German or English by 1 October 2026. Results will be announced at the end of November 2026.
The programme is funded by the Ministry of Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the District of Vorpommern-Greifswald, and co-funded by the European Union.
