The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery | Len Lye Centre is looking for an Assistant Curator Contemporary Art and Collections to join their team in New Plymouth on a permanent, full-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your curatorial career at one of Aotearoa's leading contemporary art institutions. Working closely with the curatorial team, you'll be involved in all aspects of exhibition development — from research and concept through to installation and public programming.
You'll contribute to the care and interpretation of the Govett-Brewster Collection, supporting documentation, digitisation, and collection management in line with best practice museum standards. Building relationships with artists, lenders, and community stakeholders will be a key part of the role, as will contributing to publications, visitor resources, and audience engagement initiatives.
The gallery has an international reputation for contemporary art, with a particular focus on Aotearoa and the Pacific, and is the global home of pioneering filmmaker and kinetic sculptor Len Lye.
